Circus ABC

Cirkus ABC is DYNAMO’s attempt to enlighten and educate our hungry audience, who are not just satisfied with watching performances – they want to attain knowledge as well! “We don’t just want to be entertained, we want to be educated!”, we say, and well, we gotta’ give the people what they want!

But acquiring and disseminating all knowledge about circus is a complicated and time-consuming discipline, so we have allied ourselves with the artists who make their way through DYNAMO, either in residencies or as guest appearances.

Follow this page as the list gradually expands and unfolds! And if you want to contribute, you are welcome. Write to pr@dynamoworkspace.dk

Diabolo: “Is an object that we would say is a ball cut in half and joined on the opposite side. With two sticks and a string tied at the ends we can make it spin. Diabolo etymologically means to throw in parabola. It is the most recognisable but not the only thing that can be done with this object.” Carla Carnerero, La Barque Acide

Foot juggling: “Foot juggling, in the other words antipodism, is a form of juggling where the juggler lies on their back and kicks, catches and manipulates objects with their feet. Objects can be different shapes and sizes, but most common ones are balls, umbrellas, tubes, tissues and tables. Foot juggling can be performed as a solo discipline as well as duo or group discipline where the jugglers throws the objects to each other with their feet.” Rosa-Maria Autio
