Two men clash in a constant struggle for position in a world without rules. It is a couple’s dance of invitations and rejections. An experiment where genres meet, break and take new paths.
PAS DE DIEU is a study in power and powerlessness. The title is a play on the French term Pas de deux, which is used for a dance for two. This is often about iconic love dances in large action ballets, but when Uppercut Danseteater and fix+foxy come together to create a new performance, it is with the desire to explore the borderlands between verbal and physical violence, hate and love, power and submission.
Experience dancer Mark Philip and actor Morten Burian, who together have approximately 50 years of seniority as performing artists in their respective fields, when they meet under the direction of award-winning choreographer Stephanie Thomasen and playwright Tue Biering, in a scenography created by Johan Kølkjær.
