The Nordic Council

The company spent their DYNAMO residency to work on the performance Disco Inferno.

This creation is for a new circus show using the collective Northern perspective of the artists about the unique and quirky ways northerners use alcohol in social contexts. The show aims to look at everything from the way we go to clubs in -25°c, to more traditional topics, like snappsvisor, surströmmingsgillen and midsummer celebrations.

This show looks at these situations and interprets them with honesty, but also with humour and abstraction through circus. In this performance, old traditions and current trends are turned into a piece that takes the audience on a journey through highs and lows, both literally and figuratively. Using juggling, acrobatics and aerial rope, as well as live music and physical theatre, the performance will display this topic in a way that allows the audience to both laugh and reflect at the same time.
