The performance
Artists Michael Zandl, Kolja Huneck, and David Eisele will spend their residency in DYNAMO to develop their creation – Sawdust Symphony. The performance explores the human desire to create: the process from vision to construction, the tragedy of work and the relationship between tools and humans.
What exactly is the satisfaction to hit a nail into wood? What is the sensation when sanding a surface and how does it feel for a machine to work? In this creation the performers share the stage with tools and machinery. Object manipulation and Magie Nouvelle are the circus disciplines the artists use as language to tell a unique and absurd story about the universe that unfolds around the practice and the concept of work.
A public showing of the work in progress will follow the residency, on June 11th 19:00.
