Lithuanian company Teatronas spent this DYNAMO residency working on the performance Grimmaces.

About the performance

Grimmaces is a reinterpretation of well-known folk tales – but not for children at all! The performance is an innovative fusion of contemporary circus and theatre, in a reinterpretation of the Brothers Grimm’s original, raw and unfiltered tales. The performance attempts to understand and dismantle social constructions within gender and national identity, in a humorous way and examines how folk tales have helped to influence our perception of the two social constructions.
