Arne & Maxime (Collectif Malunes) spent this DYNAMO residency working on their duo performance – Ki No Nagare. A work in progress presentation took place in DYNAMO on 21st November 2025.
About the project
“Ki no nagare”, or flowing energy, is a circus performance in which hand-to-hand and icarian techniques merge with circular movements inspired by aikido – literally the way of harmony. The martial principles serve as a starting point to explore how to let go, accept, and find harmony, both within oneself and with another.
Three performers bring the piece to life: two contrasting bodies, a heavy and a light man, engage in a wordless physical dialogue about balance, cooperation, and dynamics, carried by the pulsing rhythms of taiko and drums.
Ki no nagare is a warm and inviting hand to hand piece in which contrast fades and the search for inner and mutual harmony takes centre stage.
