The purpose of the Keyartist program is to facilitate a space where professional circus artists can develop their artistic ideas, rehearse for performances, and have their daily/general training to maintain and develop their technical level, share knowledge, and collaborate with other artists.

Therefore, the training space is not a place for longer trial periods with larger groups/ensembles or setting up larger scenography, but rather a space for your daily training.

To be considered professional, you must have professional experience/activities within circus, vaudeville, street theater, dance, or other physical performing arts that intersect with circus, such as acrobatics or contact improvisation, or a circus/dance education or similar.

You can also become a Keyartist if you’re working towards getting into a higher education circus program or becoming a professional circus artist. However, this requires previous basic training or training in an artistic practice.

Since not everyone is expected to have a circus education, DYNAMO assesses each participant individually.

Specifics:

• The monthly fee is 200 kr.
• You must be 18 years old to apply (unless a special agreement is done with DYNAMO).
• All training is done at your own risk. Dynamo recommends that you have your own insurance.
• You must participate in rigging courses held by Dynamo, which are free

As a key artist you get: 

• A Key to DYNAMO, a dynamic house, with many Danish and international guest artists.
• Access to DYNAMO’s training space and equipment. If the Studio is free, you can also train there.
• Access to DYNAMO’s kitchen.
• Free coffee.
• 25% discount for a DYNAMO card. 
• Opportunity to join Dynamo for lunch at 12:00-13:00, for  40 DKK per day, 150 DKK for a week, and 500 DKK for a month. Registration is required.
• 2-4 times a year, The Circus Playground & Dynamo host an Open Stage where it’s possible to try out ideas and acts. Here, you can also volunteer in the organizing group.

Expectations of you as a Key Artist:

You are responsible for maintaining the training space. This means cleaning up after yourself, helping with vacuuming the acro mats, and other cleaning tasks.

By receiving a key to DYNAMO, you become a part of the house. Therefore, it is expected that you are respectful of the other activities happening at DYNAMO, such as performances and residencies, among others.
