Open call – Autumn 2023

We are now receiving applications for an upcoming 4-weeks residency in Autumn 2023 dedicated to contemporary circus artists.

Professional contemporary circus artists and companies, based anywhere in the world, including Denmark are welcome to apply. We encourage applications from artists/companies who plan to premiere their performance within a year from the residency.

The theme for the residency is CIRCUS AND MESSAGE: SOCIAL AND POLITICAL ISSUES IN CIRCUS CREATION. We welcome submissions from artists who use circus as a medium to express, reflect, or question social and/or political problematics. We interpret the theme broadly and submitted projects can deal with, but are not limited to: issues of gender and identity, borders and conflicts, climate and environmental issues, minority representation and access, etc.
The residency is open to artists working in any circus discipline.

Through the residency programme, DYNAMO aims to support the circus environment to its fullest extent by also providing artists with the opportunity to do unrestricted creative work and contribute to the development of contemporary circus in the Nordic region and Europe
